2001 – Ayrshire Cross – Senior Country relay
Irvine AC retained the county cross-country relay shield; with a fine victory in a closely fought contest with Kilmarnock Harriers.
To complete a successful day the ‘B‘ team took the bronze medals.
2000 – Edinburgh to Glasgow Road relay
After an absence of 31 years, Irvine AC eventually re-qualified for this prestigious event in 1990.
After finding it very difficult in the early years; by continually finishing in the last few places; the team gained its best ever position. This is by finishing in 8th place; as well as gaining the most meritorious award.
Ayrshire Cross – Country relay
Irvine AC were the easy winners of the Ayrshire cross-country relay championships; held at Irvine beach park.
The club followed up this success by dominating the 6 mile Ayrshire cross-country championships; taking the senior team race; in addition to 1st senior man (Billy Richardson); 1st Junior man (Graham Ferguson); and 1st Veteran man (Colin Miller)
1999 – British Veteran Athletics Federation 5000 meters road senior race championships
The BVAF 5000 metres road race was held in Scotland at Annan; with Irvine AC taking second place from a strong Cambuslang Harriers team.
